Hello December…
I have no IDEA where this year went, so if you find it please send it back to me. I swear it was just June and we were enjoying the Summer Time fun, instead of preparing for cold and snow. (Oh by the way, I’m not preparing for snow- just cold) Not to mention the year is almost over in 4 weeks. WOW… So much to do this month, and I need an extension.
This month we are going to do things differently, I want to have a little fun with you guys and see what kind of interaction we can get going over here on the website. Join me, this will be FUN… (I Hope)
Every Thursday I will post up a favorite holiday theme, this could be a movie, tradition, recipes, holiday item, etc. Even if you don’t celebrate, join in and let us know what you do.
This week I want to kick it off with my all time favorite Christmas movie… Like seriously what gets me in the mood to decorate, bake, shop, and all that fun elf stuff.
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation…
Guys, I feel like at times this is my life. Most know I have cats and I can vision them eating the cord to the lights and catching it on fire. The crazy look that Clark Griswold gets in his eyes at the end with the chainsaw, that’s Mr. Willard by Christmas day.
We caught the last of it last night and of course I had to hurry up with my work so I could watch it, and I laughed more this year than I’ve ever done before. Why? Because I think Mr. Willard has that look already and it wasn’t even Christmas yet. Wish me luck y’all as this might be a LONG month ahead of me.
I also think about how your strange family comes together to celebrate, and how you pull together to make it as grand as you can – even with the mad eyes.
Now, my other movies go like this but in no special ranking to what I will watch.. Oh, and I have the DVR set to record all those Christmas Hallmark movies- I see a binge watching day in my future.
- All the Santa Clause movies
- Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- Christmas with the Kranks
- Frosty the Snowman
- A Christmas Story
- It’s a Wonderful Life
I could go for days I think on the movies I love… Tell me some of yours? Do you have a tradition to kick off the season? I want to hear from you, which means comment below.
Happy Holidays and I look forward to next week.
