This week we have Robert Simmons, Martial Artist, UFC Coach, Ex-Firefighter, Tattoo Artist, Book Cover Model. First we’d like to thank you for being apart of our Hump Day Magic post.. Well enough about my, let’s get down to business.
What has been your favorite shoot / campaign? So far I would have to say my favorite work has been with Eric Battershell so far. He’s been a lot of fun to work with and both locations were awesome. From the beaches of Tampa to the streets of Cleveland.
How would you describe your personal style, where do you pull your inspiration from? I’ve had so many inspirational characters in my lifetime it’s hard to count. One of my favorites will always be Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’ve always admired the hardworking idols.
Do you have any hidden talents? I have a very artistic outlook so I guess you can say I have a talented eye. Anything artistic has been a talent for me.
Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what’s your favorite city that you have visited? Thankfully, I’ve been to many places throughout the world in my line of work. I would have to say one of my absolute favorites was Dubai. That place is absolutely amazing if anyone get the chance.
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera? I’ve always been the type of person that doesn’t mind the spot light. I think I’m more shy for pictures than any interviews or video though. That part is still new to me. I’ll get the hang of it.
Favorite movie? I have favorites in all the categories and genres but one of my all-time favorite movies is good will hunting. Never gets old.
Five things you can’t live without? other than the basics to survive, there’s not much I couldn’t live without. I’m basic and simple. You could take everything away from me and as long as I still have my dream, I have everything I need.
Give us five facts about you people may not know. 1. I’m a third generation coach 2. I was a firefighter for a year and a half 3. I have duel citizenships, United States and Jordan. 4. I turned professional in Mixed martial arts at 18 years of age. 5. I played every sport for all seasons growing up
What’s the best and worst thing about being a model? I always start out good/bad conversations with the bad first and then we end on a good note. The bad for me is definitely the way models are perceived and the expectations we have based on our looks and job title. I’m everything but looks in my other business so sometimes it’s hard to have people pass their judgement on that alone. With that being said, I’ve had a lot of great things come with it also. I’ve met some awesome people and more importantly I’ve been able to helps others with my page. I think the good I’ve done with it has made it so much more meaningful in my eyes.
What’s your biggest accomplishment? Honestly, I’ve never been one for counting accomplishments. I’ve done and accomplished a lot. At the end of the day I don’t believe it speaks for where I’m at in present time. I’m more worried about what’s next…
