What a Weekend…. No Time to Recover.
WOW! What a weekend I had… Now, don’t think that as that’s so not the case. I just returned home from Jacksonville, FL as I attended the Book Obsessed Babes Author Event this weekend.
It’s crazy how just a few days away can cause madness with your body. Yes, I will admit I feel like I went on a bender this weekend. But… In reality, it was just the opposite.
I was lucky with this one as I didn’t have to travel far as it was only a two-hour drive for me this title around. I did, however, have to prepare mentally for the social events, table decorations, books, and pack, and make sure a million times that I didn’t leave my banner or something else at home. Picture me showing up to the hotel miles away from my home without books. Yes, I am pretty sure I have the recurring dream right before events. I’m happy to say that nothing was left, and I even managed to take my sanity with me.
So what do we do while away?
You drive with the music blaring; talk non-stop to your partner in crime who has signed up to tag along and help. It does make the drive pass by like you’re flying, though. It seems all slow and steady as you prepare but the race begins as soon as you hand your keys over to the valet.
Check-in, table set-up, welcome gathering, brunch, event, table breakdown, and then home again. Yes, it went just that fast, and I am just now coming down. Just think I didn’t even stay for the after party events as I had to get home to the kid that night.
It made me question on how others do this… Recently, I’ve been stalking Colleen Hoover on her world travels, and I have to say I’m worn out from watching the post. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to fly around and jump from one city to the next on tour like that, but then again I’m sure you get use to it over time. Maybe I’ll be able to work up to that level one day, but for now, I enjoyed the kick-off to the events to come for 2016. Oh and let me just say 2017 is already PACKED, and I’m blown away at the opportunities that have come my way.
I just wanted to check in with you all and say Happy Monday as I hope you all have a wonderful week planned. Try not to work too hard as I dive into the last bit of Sugary Sweets. This lady is going to Social Media lockdown as I have a deadline to meet.
